Modi Modern Indigenous is a designer line of home and fashion accents that successfully fuses traditional crafts with modern design and function. It is a synergy of indigenous artisans and city-bred designers aiming to bridge tradition bound crafts into the 21st century through application of new shapes, colors, modern material combination and new functions.

Launched in October 2004, Modi’s main objective is to increase the perceived value of crafts made by indigenous people. Modi also hopes to create a growing demand for traditional crafts by continuously coming up with new concepts on how to present indigenous crafts in a fresh way and meet the requirements of the market without compromising the integrity of the artisans.
